It’s a fair question.

The internet already has thousands of RAG tutorials, examples, and reference implementations. If the goal of this series is architecture, I could have chosen almost anything.

AI is already part of software delivery. Developers use it to generate code, write tests, understand legacy code and speed up routine work. That is no longer experimental. It is already happening in real teams.

For organisations running essential systems, that creates both opportunity and risk.

By essential systems, I mean systems where failure has a serious business, legal, financial or operational impact. That includes areas like banking, telecom, healthcare, energy, insurance, logistics and public services.
